MailClip Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 21, 2026

MailClip is a browser extension that copies or exports the Gmail conversation open in your active tab as TXT or JSON. This policy explains what data MailClip accesses, how it is used, and how it is protected.

Data MailClip accesses

When you open the MailClip popup on a Gmail conversation and choose an action, MailClip reads the conversation currently displayed in that tab:

MailClip does not access your Google Account credentials, other tabs, other websites, or any other Gmail data.

How data is used

Solely to perform the action you request: copy the conversation to the clipboard or download it as a TXT or JSON file. This is MailClip's single purpose.

Local processing only

All processing happens in your browser. MailClip has no servers and makes no network requests. It does not transmit conversation data to the developer or any third party. It contains no analytics, telemetry, tracking, advertising, or remote code.

Storage and retention

MailClip does not store conversation content. Extracted content exists only in popup memory and is discarded when the popup closes. The only value saved is the Include attachments setting, stored in your browser's local storage on your device. Files you download and text you copy are controlled by you and remain on your device.

Sharing and sale

MailClip does not sell, rent, transfer, or share user data with third parties. It does not use data for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, or any purpose unrelated to its single purpose.

Permissions

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

MailClip's use of user data is limited to providing its single purpose. Its use complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date.
